Willy Wonka Jr. Camp July 21 thru July 31

Performances: August 1 - 7 pm August 2 - 3 pm
Information: Lisa Bauer - 826-7071
This years Youth Arts Camp began with auditions in June to assign roles to the leads so they could begin reherasing before camp started.
The campers will begin on July 21 with learning their blocking (where to move and stand while they are on stage), dances, and songs. When not learning these things, campers participate in classes on acting, character development, creative writing, art, how to apply stage makeup, costume care, photography, dance, vocal and backstage technical things that go into a stage production.
Participants help with all aspects of a production of a show--they help build and paint sets, last minutes costume changes, finding and making props and sometimes they even plan and prepare a special scene in the play. Students will also create a photo history of their camp to display in the lobby during their production.
The participants for camp range from 6 to16 years old with several older teens as part of the production crew and camp counselors.
This year campers are going to have class and demonstrations on Puppet history and production as well as a class on candy making to go along with the theme of the Chocolate Factory. Camp runs from 9 am till 4 pm daily during the two weeks and culminates with performances open for the community.
